DR. GREG BENOIT, DVM
Owner

Dr. Benoit graduated as valedictorian of his class, from St. Georges University, Grenada, in 2005. He grew up in the Lakeland region and comes from a veterinary and farming background complete with a love for animals. Greg spent significant time in his younger years playing hockey and showing jumping horses competitively.

In 2003, Dr. Benoit spent the summer in Wetaskawin, AB at the Bell Veterinary Services clinic where he developed an interest in equine reproduction; He then accepted an externship in 2004 and an internship from July 2005 – June 2006 at Moore & Co. in Calgary where he was responsible for all facets of equine medicine including minor surgeries, lameness exams, reproduction and medical workups. Following his internship Dr. Benoit worked at the Equine Medical Centre in North Chatham, New York, where he continued specializing in equine medicine and reproduction.

Dr. Benoit worked with Dr. Bill Prybysh at the Bonnyville Veterinary Clinic in 2007. In March of 2008, Dr. Benoit purchased the Bonnyville Veterinary Clinic where he continues to offer small and large animal services to the Lakeland area.

Dr. Benoit also worked with his father and brother at Centre Animal Hospital, in Cold Lake, where he was responsible for all facets of small animal medicine including minor and major surgeries, medical workups and routine examinations. In 2014, Dr. Benoit purchased Centre Animal Hospital and took over full management in 2016.

In February 2009, Greg married his long-time friend, Allison Reid, who is also a partner in the business. They have 3 children together, Norah born in February 2010, Owen born in July 2011 and Easton, a Mother’s Day gift, born in May 2013. They also have a 3 legged Collie mix named Baita, a Chocolate Lab named Loka, and a Boston Terrier named Belle.

Dr. Tammy Anderson, DVM,
Associate

Dr. Tammy Anderson was born in St. Paul, AB and spent the first 5 years of her life on her parent’s farm. At the young age of 3, Dr. Anderson told her father that she was going to be a “horsie doctor”, and she spent a great deal of her childhood helping him take care of the animals on the family farm. Her arrow was pointed, and it’s never wavered from that direction. At the age of 5 she moved to PEI and spent the next 22 years there.

Although she loved PEI, Dr. Anderson always felt that Alberta was her home. During her University years she tried to spend every summer in Alberta. One fateful summer, Dr. Anderson met Jordan, whom she married in 2010.

Dr. Anderson graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2008, and quickly moved back to Alberta. She accepted a veterinary position at the Edmonton Veterinarian’s Emergency Clinic. During her 3 1/2 years working there she cared for many cats and dogs. After working the stressful hours of emergency, Dr. Anderson decided that she wanted to work in a clinic where she could provide high-quality preventative medicine to pets and their families. She soon became a welcome addition to the BVC team.

Dr. Anderson and Jordan decided to settle in St. Paul with their two adorable children, and their dog Finn.

Dr. Hope Skorlatowski, DVM,

Associate

Dr. Hope grew up on an acreage just outside of Cold Lake, AB. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, class of 2024. She is looking forward to practicing close to home.

Hope lives with four horses; Thor, Ragnar, Leaf and Denver, two dogs; Luce and Bailey, and three cats she adopted from the Local Lakeland Humane Society; Pancake, Waffles and Flapjack. She loves trail riding, paddle boarding with her dog Luce and is looking forward to getting back in to dog sports like agility and nose work.

Hope is mostly looking forward to continuing her relationship with the LHS and experiencing the diversity of cases seen in rural Alberta. Hope will be working at both of our clinics; Bonnyville Veterinary Clinic and Centre Animal Hospital.

Janna,
Client Care Advocate

Janna has grown up in Alberta, and loved spending time on her grandparents’ farm while growing up.  She has a love for pretty much all animals, large and small. Janna and her family have several cats, 2 dogs, 1 horse and a gecko – many of whom are rescues.

Janna’s passion for customer service and helping people is evident in every interaction our clients have with her.  She’s been involved with the Cold Lake Ag Society for several years, and is likely a familiar face among many of our clients.

A graduate (with honours) from SAIT in General Business Management, she has a solid understanding of every aspect of business; and she brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding to a different aspect of clinic life.  Janna finds joy in supporting her two children as they grow into amazing young adults, and loves spending time paddling, hiking, enjoying the beauty of the Lakeland, and supporting and cheering on her daughter’s riding.

Danica,
RVT

Danica joined our team in 2010 after moving to the area with her then fiancé, Greg. Since that time, they have married and welcomed two beautiful children into the world.

Danica graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT, in Edmonton in 2007, and worked in the Edmonton area prior to moving to Bonnyville.

Danica loves everything about surgery, has a special interest in anesthesia and dentistry, and has a huge soft spot for cats. She is generally our Primary Treatment Person, and spends much of the day running the treatment area and pharmacy – she’s a busy girl!

Outside of work she loves reading, doing crafts and spending time with her family and friends.

Danica & Greg currently have 2 cats, Gwen and Nyxie, and recently rescued a gecko named Beans.

Lisa,
RVT

Lisa joined our team in May 2013 after receiving her Registered Veterinary Technician Diploma at Lakeland College in Vermilion, AB. She grew up on a cattle farm by Stoney Lake, AB and helped her dad train horses for barrel racing and team roping.

Lisa and her husband have their own cattle farm now by Ardmore, AB where she still competes in Barrel Racing and enjoys playing slo pitch and volleyball competitively with her husband.

In Sept 2022, they welcomed a little girl named Kennedy. They have 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 horses and 1 pony.

Faith,
RVT

Faith graduated in May of 2018 from her Veterinary Medical Assistant program at NAIT. In July 2018, she joined our team full time. In May 2023, Faith completed her online studies and received her Registered Veterinary Technician Diploma.

Faith grew up on a small hobby farm outside of Glendon that consisted of a few 4H cows and an alpaca. From there her love of animals quickly grew. Faith now lives here in Bonnyville with her fiancé, Jake, and their 2 dogs and cat. Faith enjoys being outside in her spare time doing activities like camping, quading, or relaxing on a beach somewhere warm.

Kelsey,
RVT

Kelsey graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Lakeland College in June 2018. She started her career shortly after in Elrose,SK where she got in to mixed animal practice. Kelsey joined our team in July 2022 when she moved to the area to be with her boyfriend Tyson.

Kelsey grew up in the far southeast corner of Saskatchewan in a town called Weyburn. She did not live on a farm, but visited her grandparents farm frequently and spent a lot of time with all the animals there.

She enjoys crafts, board games, outdoor activities (like kayaking and ice skating) and spending time with her loved ones in her spare time. Kelsey and Tyson have 1 cat named Sola.

Andrea,
VT

Andrea joined our team in August 2022 and is in the process of obtaining her diploma as a Registered Veterinary Technician from Lakeland College.
Andrea relocated to the area in 2017 from Chiliwack, BC and lives with her husband Jayden, their 3 horses, 2 dogs, and 2 cats.
Her go to areas of interest is within equine medicine but is a valued asset in all aspects of the practice. After several other career routes, she decided to return to what she is most passionate about, which is caring for animals.

Menette,
VA

Menette started at the Bonnyville Veterinary Clinic in July 2006 when Bill Prybysh still owned the clinic and stayed on when Dr. Benoit purchased the clinic in 2008.
Menette was born and raised in the Bonnyville area and currently lives on an acreage here with her husband, twin daughters, 2 horses and yard full of cats.

Alanna,
VA

Alanna joined our team in January 2023 after moving to the area to be with her husband Nathan. Alanna graduated from the Robertson VMA program with honors in July 2022, and plans to become an RVT one day through NAIT or Lakeland College. Alanna loves all aspects of the clinic but she especially enjoys dentistry and lacerations, increasing her drive to become an RVT so she can become more hands on and further expand her knowledge.

In her free time she loves cooking, being outdoors, helping on the family farm and spending time with her boy Harrold; their Saint Bernard who she refers to as their “house horse” due to his size, big heart and big endless cuddles.

Alanna works between Bonnyville Vet Clinic and our sister clinic Centre Animal Hospital in Cold Lake, AB.
